Describe a Time You Were Really Proud of Yourself

Think of a time when you were really proud of yourself.
It could be something big, like completing your first draft of a novel or learning a new skill, or something small, like sending out holiday cards, or cleaning out your junk drawer, or sticking to an exercise routine. Or maybe you finally got the hang of using some new writing software and felt a sense of accomplishment.
Or it can be about a time when you took the high road and didn’t engage in conflict with another person.
What about a time that you failed at something, but were proud of yourself for trying?
Maybe you can recall a day that you took time to help someone, or did something to make their life better, even though it was inconvenient for you – and maybe they never even knew you helped them.
It can be about anything!
Write about that moment, and what it felt like to achieve that goal, or take that action, or get to a good mental place, or whatever else made you proud of yourself.
What did you learn from the experience? How did it make you feel about yourself?
We all have moments that we’re proud of, and reflecting on those can help us to remember why we write in the first place. It can also give us the motivation to keep going when things get tough.
So take a few minutes to write about a time when you were proud of yourself, and see what you come up with, then feel free to share your story in the comments if you like!
